home about : share : resources “I felt like there is no person who suffered more than me. But then, talking to other people and finding out that it’s not just me, that it’s half the world. Before I didn’t know there were so many conflicts and wars, and now that I know, and have the opportunity to do something about it, I want to let other people know.” (Didi)

After a couple months of getting to know each other, each person was invited to share with the group their stories of living through war and resettlement. Each Friday one person would sit with the rest of us (and a video camera) in a circle and talk. We would listen and ask questions at the end. We began the New Year –2002—with these testimonies, and Mama started us off. We finished them the following month with Marijana. Over the course of these Fridays we began to really learn about each other, about what each person had been through. Once the testimonies were transcribed, they formed the basis of our ‘script’ for our first video One Family.
