Youth Breaking Borders participants, Marcia and Pavina, win the "Best Overall Film" award for "The Quest for Us" at the LaGuardia Community College International High School's 2014 Film Festival. Congratulations to them and the entire YBB program!

This past weekend, G.A.P. youth took the NYCoRE (New York Coalition of Radical Educators) conference by storm with their workshop on oppression and liberation. Check out some of the responses from workshop participants and see more pictures of youth in action after the jump!

Smarties meets every other Friday and is a group that provides individual support to folks who need help navigating college applications, applying for financial aide, looking for scholarships, help with writing college essays, and much more. Smarties is also the place where you can get help with updating your resume and searching for jobs!

G.A.P. Youth Workshop at the NYCoRE Conference!


At this years The New York Collective of Radical Educators (NYCoRE) Conference, G.A.P. youth will facilitate a workshop called "Breaking It Down to Break Free: Oppression and Liberation" on systems of oppression and how they affect our daily lives. The conference is on March 15th and the workshop is at 11am - come out and support!

For the FIRST Showcase of the year; G.A.P. is excited to invite Prashant Bhargava to share clips from his visually stunning and multi-faceted character driven films such as "Patang" and "Sangam".

Open Houses for This Years Youth Media Programs

Youth Breaking Borders Open House: Wednesday, October 30th, 4-6pm

Youth Breaking Borders is a free social justice media program for immigrant youth aged 14-21. The program meets Wednesdays 4-7pm from November to June.

SupaFriends Open House: Tuesday, October 29th, 4-6pm

SupaFriends is a free social justice media program for Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay, Transgender, Queer and Questioning youth aged 14-21. The program meets Thursdays 4-7pm from November to June.
