El Museo del Barrio Screens G.A.P. Films

El Museo del Barrio presented three G.A.P. films in their OUR ROLLS screening on March 17. This screening featured films by young local artists who use film as their palette to awaken the real and imagined testimonios of their lives and ours. Congratulations to all the G.A.P. youth producers who created these powerful films!

G.A.P. to participate in New York City’s First-Ever Social Justice Artists’ Convening

G.A.P. is excited to be a part of the first Social Justice Artists' Convening planned by the Social Justice Artists' Collaborative on Wednesday, September 21. The day-long convening will bring together NYC-based arts organizations, artists, and supporting funders in an unprecedented opportunity to create community among those doing work at the intersection of arts and social justice.

Media in Action 2011

On the last weekend of July 2011, G.A.P. convened our Media in Action Institute, which focused on educational justice. We received more applications to participate than ever before: 90 organizations applied, with 33% from California alone. Keisha Knows and Three Queer Mice screening this Thursday at the Maysles Cinema as part of the Homo-Harlem Film Festival

Join us for the Second Night of the two day Third Annual Homo-Harlem Film Series featuring two short films created by Global Action Project's Supafriends Program, Three Queer Mice and Keisha Knows, that play upon LGBT issues, followed by Charles Bracks' Dreams Deferred: The Sakia Gunn Film Project, exploring the murder of 15 year old Sakia Gunn in a hate crime which was largely undocumented by the press.

"I Am Lobsang": New Video by G.A.P.'s Youth Breaking Borders Program

I Am Lobsang

"I Am Lobsang" is one of several videos produced by the youth producers of Global Action Project during the 2010-11 program year. The video was recently screened at G.A.P.'s End-of-Year Screening, along with the other works. We will post all videos from 2010-11 soon. Watch "I Am Lobsang" now.
