You Are Not Alone

Created by youth members of New York State Youth Leadership Council (NYSYLC), DRUM South Asian Organizing Center, UPROSE and Adelante Alliance in our 5 day youth facilitated Community Media in Action training, "You Are Not Alone" shows how undocumented communities can respond to sexual violence.

Producer Janet Perez of NYSLC says,
"In this video, we wanted to showcase the grueling, and sometimes burdensome, mix of emotions that undocumented immigrant women go through. Not only do they have to think about the abuse that just took place, but also how their immigration status can play a role in deciphering how help will look like. They can easily be threatened by deportation to  stay quiet and keep low. In creating this video, we wanted our message to be: you are not alone. Regardless of status, you CAN get help."
